Wimbledon Terrace Private Residence — Full Interior Design

A full transformation of a Victorian terrace house into a considered family home. The brief was simple: timeless quality, nothing trend-led, materials and finishes that would earn their place over time and age gracefully.

The kitchen sits at the heart of the project. Wall units hand-painted in Little Greene's Portland Stone — soft, chalky, matt — set a calm foundation, while the island in a deep purple-brown brings depth and warmth. A Calacatta Viola stone surface runs across the island and splashback, introducing quiet drama and movement. The ceramic wall tiles are a nod to the classic French kitchen; honest and enduring. Ceramic pendant lights hang from bronze chain, adding character without competing.

An oak china display was designed around the family's own ceramic collection — favourite pieces given a proper home, woven into the interior rather than arranged on a shelf.

The result is a kitchen that feels collected and lived-in. Rooted in craft, built to last.

Design that starts with the space, not the trend.

Every material decision in a project starts with the same question — will this still feel right in twenty years? The ceramic wall tiles here are an answer to that question. Simple, honest, and entirely at ease in a Victorian terrace kitchen.

Boy’s Bedroom & Family Bathroom

Designed to grow with its occupant. Bespoke birch ply joinery wraps the children's room — full-height storage, a dedicated sleeping nook with its own lighting, and shelving sized for small things collected over time. A ceiling in Farrow & Ball Pigeon and a checkerboard rug add character without noise. Calm enough to sleep in, considered enough to last well beyond the early years.

The family bathroom sits just alongside — stone and softness in equal measure. Walls clad in marble with warm russet veining, floor tiles in a glazed sage zellige — texture underfoot, a quiet gloss to the room. A framed oil painting above the bath adds a layer of the unexpected — art has a place in every room.

Principal Bedroom & Ensuite

The principal bedroom was designed around what was already there. The original Victorian fireplace and ornate plasterwork cornice were restored and kept as the focal point — bespoke fitted wardrobes in soft grey with brass hardware built either side, framing rather than competing. A vintage Kandinsky tapestry hung above the mantle brings colour and energy without disturbing the calm. Walls in Farrow & Ball Elephant's Breath, herringbone oak flooring, and a linen pendant light keep everything warm and unhurried.

The ensuite takes a different register — more considered drama. Two marbles in dialogue: Rosso Levanto in deep burgundy vertical stripes set against a softer sage ground, with brushed steel fittings throughout. Slightly irregular ceramic tiles line the lower walls, their handmade quality catching the light and giving the room a surface that feels crafted rather than perfect. A ceramic wall light with globe shades sits reflected in the full-height mirror, doubling the effect.
